About The Brand

As the benefits of using CBD oil spread across the globe, without a doubt, more and more people are starting to look for products containing the ingredient. One of these places with an exponential growth in the interest of CBD is the United Kingdom, and is a need Aura CBD has catered to well.

Established around 2013, the brand was one of the first to make products available to the UK market, after the founder, Aura Lakshmi discovered its miraculous benefits and became an advocate for it.

The company is committed to supplying the highest quality extracts to consumers that will help support health and wellbeing, lending support to Tiny Shelter, an animal shelter located in Portugal to extend the warmth and love the company has received to those that don’t have a voice.

CBD Quality

Being out of the USA, you might expect that Aura CBD might be subject to less rigorous product guidelines, but make no mistake, their overall CBD quality rivals many of the most well-respected international brands.

Their product quality can be attributed to the following:

  • CO2 extraction - CO2 extraction, also known as supercritical carbon dioxide gas extraction, is currently the industry standard of CBD oils. Extracted obtained via this process display high potency and purity, and are devoid of any toxic byproducts. It is expensive, but worth it where quality is concerned.
  • Full spectrum extracts - full-spectrum extracts are the cream of the crop when it comes to those obtained from hemp. Full-spectrum extracts contain a range of cannabinoids, and also associated terpenes and flavonols. Using full-spectrum extracts also increase the likelihood of a synergistic increase in potency owing to a phenomenon known as the entourage effect.
  • Using organic hemp - Aura CBD states that they only use organic hemp to make the oils and all other products. There is no mention of where the hemp is sourced from, however (although the EU would make sense).

Products

Aura CBD has a modest sized product catalog, but appears to be increasing their offerings since the edibles category has only recently emerged. Their current range includes:

CBD Oil Tinctures

The most popular CBD based dosage form on the planet, Aura CBD offers several different CBD oils. They offer both the raw and decarboxylated oils for sale, but you may notice oils states in percentage strengths instead of basic milligrams.

To make this simple, it is a good idea to understand what it means. A strength of 10% means that you can find 10% CBD per ml (or 1000 mg)

So, 10% of 1000 mg= 100 mg. In a 10 ml bottle, you would have 100x 10=1000mg.

So don’t be confused by the range of oils which start at 2.5%, and go up to 30%. Prices start from £17.99 and go up to £249.99 (for 4 x 30% bottles).

CBD Paste

A rather uncommon product, Aura CBD’s paste is meant to be used orally, by placing under the tongue and then subsequently swallowing. The full spectrum paste is also imbued with all naturally occurring phytochemicals, including terpenes and flavonoids.

The CBD paste is available in 16% concentrations and 3 or 10 g sizes. It costs either £45.00 or £99.00 depending on which size you go for.

CBD Edibles

Aura CBD offers one a day CBD raw chocolate, which can be helpful if you prefer to get your CBD in delicious creamy chocolate form. With 30 pieces per bag, and at the cost of £28.00, affordability is excellent.

Unfortunately, there is no mention of how much CBD one can expect per piece of chocolate, a missing and important piece of information.

The presence of lavender essential oil makes it extremely soothing as well, perfect for those times when you had a difficult day at the office and just want to unwind before bed.

This highly versatile oil can be used in several ways as the name indicates, perfect for addition to your bathwater, for application as a moisturizer or to be used as an effective massage oil.

CBD Skin Balm

Richly moisturizing, this 3% CBD infused skin balm along with cocoa butter and lavender essential oil is perfect for moisturizing dry skin, or bringing life back to listless pallor. Can also be applied to relieve minor aches and pains associated with arthritis or following your workout session.

My Recommendation

There’s no doubt in my mind that Aura CBD is one of the premier UK companies in the CBD industry. With that said, I also believe that they can do more when it comes to improved product pages and transparency; in terms of third-party lab results and the source of hemp.

Their product catalog may fit the needs of consumers at this time, but as the explosion of CBD continuous over the next few years, I am hopeful that so too does their number of offerings.

All in all, since there aren’t that many CBD companies in the UK at this moment, I would say they get my nod overall, especially since previous customers seem very pleased with purchases.
